Purton 2
Tytherington Rocks 1
Both teams are under new management and boast very different teams from last season and they gave the crowd an entertaining encounter.
Purton, although not yet firing on all cylinders after an indifferent first half in which they could have been a couple of goals down, picked
themselves up as they did the previous week to to maintain their 100 per cent record with a much-improved second period.
It only took four minutes into the second half for Purton to take the lead when Dave Slattery slipped a pass in to Lee Toomey who scored with a low 15-yard shot.
On the hour, the 'Rocks' had a chance to level when awarded a penalty but their spot kick struck an upright.
Seven minutes later Purton went 2-0 ahead when a 25-yard free kick by Slattery took a deflection off a defender to leave the visiting keeper helpless.
On 73 minutes the 'Rocks' pulled a goal back when Ashley McDowell netted after neat footwork in the six-yard box.
Late half chances fell to Ritchie Saunders and Jerome Dodson but Purton finished the game 2-1 victors.
