MIKE MILSTEAD came out on top at the recent Events Logic Cotswolds Standard triathlon, breaking the course record in the process.

Cotswold Standard (Olympic) distance triathlon

Almost 300 triathletes competed in the 1,500metre swim, 41km bike ride and 9km run at Lake 62 of the Cotswold Water Park.

Milstead and Andrew Shipton both had strong swims in the men’s race but Mike proved the strongest runner coming home in a winning time of 1hr 58min 56sec.

Graham Wadworth finished third.

In the women’s race, Victoria Plume from Cirencester Tri Club was first lady in 2:18.20 followed by Eva Piatrikova in second and Janet Livesey in third.

The similar event will be held on Sunday, September 21 at Lake 62.
