Swindon Robins 55
Lakeside Hammers 37
SWINDON got their play-off push back on track with a resounding 55-37 victory over Lakeside at the Abbey on Thursday night.
The Robins put in an impressive team display to claim a comfortable win and move up to fourth in the Elite League table.
Having suffered a disheartening defeat at Poole 24 hours earlier, it was a confidence-boosting evening for Alun Rossiter's side.
Rosco said: “I’m really happy because everyone contributed and the boys dug so deep and produced.
“Troy didn’t have the best of nights but was still 'paid for six', so when we have two 'paid for 11' and one for 12 we can cope with that.
“Nick (Morris) needs the confidence and is a little low but that will really help him, being a heat leader at 20 is tough and he’s still learning, so this will be really good for him.
“Nathan had a good night and is still learning and it’s all very positive.
“I’m still sure we’ll make the play-offs, people like to be down about it but I’m still really confident we will make it in.”
Danish flier Peter Kildemand stormed to three classy race wins from the No.1 spot, while fellow heat leader Batchelor and Simon Gustafsson also put in strong showings.
Aussie duo Nick Morris and Dakota North both impressed with typically determined displays to earn well-deserved Heat 15 appearances, a race in which they duly struck a 5-1 to cap off a tremendous night.
Down at reserve, Steve Worrall continued his superb run and talented youngster Nathan Greaves stepped up with arguably his best performance in Swindon colours.
The pair combined for 5-1s in both reserve races.
