FOUR hundred competitors, 100 RDA Groups and 240 horses triumphed over intense heat and thunder storms to make this year’s RDA National Championships one of the most successful ever.

Friday’s event kicked off with carriage driving and visually impaired dressage, while Saturday and Sunday featured dressage, RDA showjumping, vaulting and countryside challenge competitions.

The three-day event was once again held at Hartpury College, Gloucestershire.

A total of 90 classes were held over the three days.

The winner of the Open Carriage Driving was Sue Sherlock of Happy Landing Driving Group.

Andrew Ttophi of United Counties RDA Training Group won the Partially Visually Impaired Grade III Freestyle to Music Canter test.

The Grade IV Championship Test was won by Ruth MacCarthy.

The Perry Vaulting team won the vaulting competition. The Senior RDA Level III Showjumping was won by Abi Waller of Penniwells RDA and the Junior by Naomi Connell from Omagh.
