SOUTH CERNEY Angling Club will be holding it’s free annual taster days for those who would like to have a go at fishing on Saturday, August 2 and Saturday, August 16.

Hosted in partnership with the Cotswold Waterpark Trust, these events are held as part of National Fishing Month, and supported by the Angling Trades Association and it's supporting partners.

The taster sessions are free to attend and offer the opportunity to try your hand at fishing with one-to-one guidance from a licensed angling coach. The idea is to encourage every family member to have a go whatever the age, gender, or disability, or whichever cultural or social background they may be from.

After the fishing session there is an opportunity to do some pond dipping, to learn about the bugs and fish that live in our waters.

Both days take place at SCAC’s Gillman’s Lake on their Wickwater complex, Wickwater Lane, South Cerney, and open at 10am; the last session commences at 4pm. The fishing sessions last for approximately 30 minutes, with all fishing tackle, bait, and licences provided.

Pre-booking is essential as spaces are limited. If you would like to take part contact Craig Hunt on 07989 973217.
