THE blue riband event of bowls, the County Singles Final held at Olveston Bowls Club, saw a cracking final lasting two hours that swayed both ways before last year's runner-up Lee Williamson (Cheltenham) gained revenge over 2013 champion Keith Hinder (Dursley) by 21-17.

The Fours final produced the fight back of the day with Allan Norris, Dave Smith, Phil Beames and Russ Mellerup (Cam Mills) coming from 17-7 down to win 24-21 against Nathan Kitchen, Nick Holliday, John Roach and Matt Cuthbert (Cheltenham).
In the Triples Final, Vince Wilks, Matt Curtis and Doug Lewis (Gloucester City) held the upper hand against Steve White, Malcolm Custis and Peter Stinchcombe (Tetbury) from the outset after taking a stunning 14-0 lead.
Despite a minor hiccup when they lost five consecutive ends they marched to the title by 24-9.
The Pairs Final was a local derby between Brian Burleigh and Keith Hinder (Dursley) up against John Heathcote and Dave Howes (Stroud). The Stroud pair came back from a seven-shot deficit at one stage to win 24-11.
The Junior Singles final went the way of Nathan Kitchen (Cheltenham) who in an unstoppable performance overwhelmed Steven Crowcombe (Cam Mills) 21-3 to retain the title he won last year.
The Two Wood Final was won by David Heath (Caer Glow) who beat Martin Shepherd 15-10.
In the Champion of Champions Final, Paul Bryant (Olveston) overcame Paul Pulley (Tewkesbury ) 21-14.
