CIRENCESTER Golf Club head pro Ed Goodwin finished a respectable 14th at the prestigious Cumberwell Park Players Championship which boasted a field of more than 100 including many European Tour players.
Goodwin shot a two under 140 (69, 71) in the 36-hole event which was won by Richard Dinsdale of the Parc Golf Academy in Newport with an eight under total of 134 (67, 67), a shot clear of former Ryder Cup winner Philip Price.
Welsh National champion and European Tour winner Stephen Dodd followed an opening 69 with the only error-free round of the second day, carding 14 pars and four birdies to share third on 136 with Michael Watson and Lee Thompson.
In-form South Cerney touring pro Ross Langdon had another solid tournament recording a 141 total and Minchinhampton’s Stuart Little hit two 71s to earn a tie for 28th place.
