ANOTHER wet Friday night in the Cotswolds led to the cancellation of three more SweetFuels CDCA Division One matches this week.

Sherston Magna took advantage to stay in touch with the league leaders Stow-on-the-Wold thanks to a comprehensive win at home to struggling Poulton 2nd XI.

The visitors were put in to bat and struggled throughout to cope with the conditions and the accurate Sherston bowlers. Ewen Kenny (3-7) and James Kutchera (3-8) bowled excellent spells to leave Poulton posting an inadequate 78 all out.

The hosts took little time in chasing down the target in only 13 overs with opener Andy Jarvis (42no) leading them to an eight-wicket win.

At Williamstrip the conditions were similar as the hosts were invited to bat on a soft pitch.

An outstanding opening spell for NATS from Andrew Phillips (6-25) with good support from skipper Will Spence (2-11) left Williamstrip all out for only 81 with none of the home batsmen reaching double figures. NATS made short work of chasing the target with the Phillips brothers, Andrew (45no) and Stuart (35no), knocking off the runs in 17 overs without losing a wicket.
