REIGNING Corinium Club 10 series champion Pete Hutchinson returned to the start line for only his fourth ride of the season and gained first place with another fine effort.

In dry, gusty and reasonably warm conditions, Pete topped a field of 48 with a sound time of 22.18.

Runner-up was Mark Foyn in his fastest time this season – also a course PB – of 24.35. Third place went to past champion Jason Costello who achieved his fastest time since his comeback to record 24.52.

Richard Woods led the remainder in fourth place (25.49) followed by young Alex Foyn, whose best ride this season (25.55) took fifth place.

New member Jason Holder rode well to take sixth (26.01) with vet Allan Norwood timing 26.06, his best since 2012.

Just one second later came Gerry Peppin in 26.07 and ninth was taken by Kevin Lister who was delayed by a troublesome chain before recording 26.13.

Paul Fuchs came in 10th in 26.21.

Steve Derrick, who has rejoined recently, finished in 11th with a time of 27.25 and 80-year-old Denis Hedges put up his fastest time this season at 28.11.

Elegant peddler Denis was followed by Terry Barry – another season fastest – in 29.18.

Vet Ross Gregory was in next at 31.33 and Carol Clarke rode well for her 31.57.
