FAST-IMPROVING dressage rider Lara Griffith tasted major success at the Hickstead Premier League meeting when getting the better of Michael Eilberg in the Grand Prix.
Lara is making the most of her opportunities at the Ampney St Peter yard of Dr and Mrs Bechtolsheimer while their Olympic gold medal-winning daughter Laura Tomlinson is taking some time away from the sport to have her first baby.
Lara, the UK Sport National Lottery-funded World Class Development rider, produced a superb test of 73.40 per cent on the Bechtolsheimers’ Andretti H.
That was enough to keep Michael Eilberg back in second and third respectively on Marakov and Half Moon Delphi.
Griffith and ‘Andy’ will now look to head to the Hickstead International in a few weeks’ time.
