TETBURY-BASED teenage running star Will Paulson put his marker down at senior level by bagging a silver medal in the British Athletics Championships.
Paulson, a former student at Pates in Cheltenham and a member of Stroud AC, produced a perfect tactical race to finish runner-up behind current UK No.1 Charlie Grice at the event in Birmingham.
The former English Schools’ champion also beat Commonwealth Games runners Richard Peters and David Bishop to claim his first senior medal at the tender age of 19.
Paulson has just finished his first year at Princeton University in the States and went into the championships as only the 32nd fastest 1500m runner in the country even after improving his personal best to 3min 44.15sec in America.
To cap a great week, Will raced to victory in the England U23 Championships
