FAIRFORD U15s remain top of the Cotswold District U15 League following a compelling performance away at Sherston Magna.

Sherston Magna U15s 37 all out

Fairford U15s 112-7

Put into bat on a slow track, Fairford made steady progress thanks in the main to admirable knocks by Oliver Holland (26), Charlie Bailey (18), Scott Mounty (16) and Freddie Nuttall (10no) and their innings closed on 112-7 off 20 overs.

Sherston Magna’s reply began slowly but surely through Findley and Skeldon who had scored 14 by the fifth over when Bailey (2-4) struck with a brace of wickets in consecutive balls.

This was a cue for the floodgates to open and wickets poured forth with Nuttall (2-2), Will Chapman (1-2), James Alborough (2-13) and Aiden Van der Heiden (3-3) wreaking havoc and being well supported by wicket keeper Dan Godwin who picked-up two stumpings and a sharp catch as they skittled out the home side for just 37 in 14 over, with Witt (16no) the top scorer.
