HENRY PEARCE, from Prior Park Prep School in Cricklade, has won a bronze medal at the Independent Association of Prep Schools (IAPS) swimming championships held in Crawley.

Pearce (Year 5), who recently won eight golds and one Silver at the Wiltshire County Championships, swam the race of the day for Prior Park, earning third place in the U10 butterfly final.

Two other Prior Park pupils, Emily Jiminez-Williams (Year 7) and Megan Knight (Year 7), had also made it through regional qualifying at St Mary’s School in Calne to join the 15 other fastest swimmers in each stroke category at the K2 Arena gala.

Emily came home an honourable 11th in the U12 backstroke and Megan finished a commendable 15th in the U12 freestyle.
