Cats Solutions Cotswold Super Sprint
Garry's winning time of 52.25 for the 400m swim, 20km bike ride and 5km run was due to a blistering final run when he pulled away from up-and-coming triathlete Jack Plummer (West Country Tri).
First veteran home was Steve Yates (45-49) of Cirencester AC Tri, with first 50+ Bob Pearce of Army Tri.
There was a good mix of competitors in the Tri Ferris-promoted event from complete beginners to GB age-groupers.
In the female event, Claire Hann of Bike Science, Bristol had a tremendous swim and run to finish in 56.58 ahead of Nicole Walters of Bath Amphibians.
The novice/youth event was dominated by some fast South West youths, with Hayden Burton from Bath taking first place overall and Tewkesbury’s Maia Hawkins lifting the female trophy.
