ELLIOTT STOOKE, one of the success stories of the Gloucester rugby season, has just missed out on the Premiership Land Rover Discovery of the Season award.
Billy Vunipola took the prize presented at the Hilton Park Lane on Thursday.
The other nominees were George Ford, Jamie Elliott, Anthony Watson and Owen William.
At the start of the season 20-year-old Stooke, who learnt his rugby with Stow RFC, was given the challenge of breaking into the Gloucester first team by Christmas.
And when he scored a try on his full Aviva Premiership debut against Northampton Saints on September 21 the Worcester-born youngster exceeded all expectations.
Since then he has consistently proved one of the Cherry & Whites' top performers.
