The race entailed 24 hours of continuous running over a five-mile trail route which took them across hills, farmland, bridges, more hills and mud.

The race started at midday on Saturday and finished at midday on Sunday and consisted of either relay teams of three, five or eight runners or individuals.

Two teams of eight runners from RSE also took up the challenge.

Team 1: Andrew Maddison, Martin Pitts (replaced by Dave Whitlow after lap one due to injury), Graham Aitchison, Paul Coates, Ben Chapman, Elaine Chapman, Sharon Smith and Ruth Herbert completed 31 laps to give them a total of 155 miles and third place in their category.
