CIRENCESTER handed out a sound beating to the visiting seniors team from Broadway.
Cirencester Golf Club
Seniors' captain Clive Bennett along with John Thurston won the opening match by 4&3, then John Morris and Patrick Moylan played well to nail down a 2&1 victory over combative opponents.
After a halved match, Cirencester ran away with the rest of the tie.
Mike Bishop and Alan Smith were back in the clubhouse before the early starters when they finished off their match by a margin of 7&6 and, not to be out done, Gerald Park and Andrew Somerville, playing his debut match for the seniors, won their match by the same score.
Ken Anderson and John Parsons also won handsomely by 4&3.
Naunton Downs 4
CIRENCESTER and Naunton fought out a tight match in wet and windy conditions which spoiled the enjoyment of playing at this beautiful location.
Starting out in the worst of the weather, Clive Bennett and Pat Waldron won their match by 4&2. Of the next four matches, all tightly contested, only one went Cirencester's way; John Thurston and Ken Anderson winning 2&1.
A two-up win by Neil Grant and Martin Taylor made the match all square but the deciding match was won by the Naunton pair Nick Cran and Graham Willmott by 4&2 to give Naunton the tie.
