The rink of Rita Gerry (Moreton), Val Osmond (Ardagh), Julia Stannard (Nailsworth) and Lindsay Collin (Page Ladies) beat J Staunton 23-15
The rink involving Maddie Hale (Fairford) along with Christine Prosser and Gill Fry (Gloucester Spa) as well as Margaret McColl (Cheltenham Spa) went from 7-3 up against H Willerton to 18-11 down and despite a magnificent last three ends – scoring seven shots without reply – they lost by three shots (21-18).

GLOUCESTERSHIRE failed by just six shots in their bid to retain the Punchard Cup when losing to the City & County of Bristol at Bristol BC.
Middleton Cup Trial
GLOUCESTERSHIRE open up their Middleton Cup campaign with a trial against Oxfordshire on Saturday, May 17 at Barnwood Bowls Club (2pm).
Tetbury BC have two representatives, newcomer Pete Stinchcombe and Roger Bird.
