JOSH DAY’S involvement in the Superstock 1000 race at Oulton Park over the weekend lasted less than a lap after he crashed out, writes Alannah Fellows.

The Be Wiser Kawasaki rider from Cirencester was feeling confident following an improved morning warm-up session, however he was pushed wide on to the grass and came to grief. Day said: "It's really annoying to have crashed out of the race as all weekend my times had been improving and after morning warm-up I was really ready for it.

“It's always a problem when you are mid-pack in a race like that, as it's a little messy on the first lap.

“Everyone was trying to go for the same bit of tarmac and I got forced on to the grass. The bike went from under me and that was that.

“Up to that point I was feeling confident of a strong top 10 place but it just wasn't meant to be. I will just ensure we are ready for Snetterton in June."

DAN COOPER, the former Cirencester Kingshill pupil from Stroud, had a tough round in the British Supersport Championship at Oulton Park, crossing the line in 16th position in race one and 20th position in race two.
