MAISEMORE PARK is Tash Seely’s favourite course, her three successes all coming at this popular riverside venue.

Tash, who is part of a major vets practice in Bourton-on-the-Water, scored an easy win on Brize Norton in the North Ledbury Members’ on Sunday afternoon.

Pickersleigh made a valiant attempt to repeat last year’s success but there was little the mare could so as Brize Norton swept by halfway down the back straight, before the favourite drew well clear in the home straight.

“He was good, he really enjoyed that,” said Seely. “I took a chance at the sales because he only cost £400.”

The race for the Area Title has become a battle between Tom Weston and Mark Wall and the Hindlip-based rider was the first to strike at this meeting aboard Soutine.

Weston’s mount improved to join the leader at the fourth from home and soon established a winning lead that was extended all the way down the home straight.

Reigning champion Wall then reduced Weston’s lead by outscoring his rival two wins to one, thanks to a double on Flying Gnu (Mares and Fillies Race) and Cardinal Rose (Confined).

The Coln Rogers-based jockey was seen at his best on both horses and his presence in the saddle probably made the difference between victory and defeat.
