SEVENTEEN teams took part in the men’s competition at this year’s Minety Sevens Festival, including a side from local employer Dyson as well as two university sevens, several specialist seven-a-side teams and representatives from a variety of local rugby clubs.
The main winners on the day were the University of Gloucester side, while the ladies' event was won by Southampton.
The winners of each of three men's groups plus the highest placed runner-up went on to compete in the main knock-out competition, while the next highest four teams entered a competition for the Oh-So-Nearly Cup.
