CHRIS PETHICK, manager of Purton FC, has stepped down after 10 years in charge at the club.
Pethick announced his decision at the club's presentation evening on Saturday.
Chairman Alan Eastwood said: "I can't thank Chris enough for all his work
as manager of our club. Throughout his time he always gave
us 100 per cent despite at times being let down by players who for one reason
or another made themselves 'unavailable'.
"He has not been well recently so the break will certainly do him good and give him more time to spend with his wife Maria and family. The club will now be looking for two managers, one to replace Chris and one to re-instate our second string in either the Wilts Premier League or a new Hellenic Div Two."
Presentation night awards – Player of the Season: Johnny Coole; Players' Player: Marcus Hall; Sporting/ Good conduct: Darren Brown; Most improved player: Tom Swindall; Chairman's Award: Nick McCrae; Training Award: Paul Carson; Clubman Award: Colin Richards (club groundsmen); Supporters' Player: Jamie Richards.
