TWO brothers crossed swords when Royal Wootton Bassett Vets played host to the touring Mold RFC side on Saturday.
Royal Wootton Bassett Vets 60
Mold RFC 5
Mold had expressed an interest in visiting the town famous for its role in the repatriation of Armed Forces – and it also allowed the opportunity for some sibling rivalry.
Owen Richardson, 32, is Bassett's second team captain and Clubman of the Year; his 34-year-old brother Mark was one of the tourists.
What took place was a try spectacular and while Owen played his part in Bassett's handsome 60-5 victory, Mark won the brotherly bragging rights as the only one to get on the score sheet, when he went over for Mold's only try
Bassett RFC will be running a 3rd XV next season and welcome any interested players to contact the club.
