ALTHOUGH very windy the rain managed to stay away for the 24 Running Somewhere Else competitors at the Highworth 5-mile on Sunday.

Highworth 5-mile

First home for RSE and in his first 5-mile race was club coach Matt Lambourne in a time of 30.42 followed closely by James Thomas with a PB by one minute in 30.46 and Simon Bowers in 31.23.

Well done to first club lady Teresa Hazelwood who smashed her PB by three minutes to finish in 36.28 with Sally Jamieson crossing the line nine seconds later in 36.37.

Kim Forbes (43.19), Robyn Friesner (43.28) and Alice Mason (47.05) all ran their first club races.

Dave Witnall, still recovering after completing the London Marathon, knocked four minutes off his PB to finish in 33.19.

Oliver Cooper 35.07, Paul Coates 37.38, Wayne Edgington 38.11, Elaine Chapman 38.56 and Liz Coombs 42.18 all achieved PBs.

Other times: Russell Young 32.08; Graham Aitchison 35.12; Sharon Rastell 38.24; Adrian Hazelwood 40.05; Jo Wood 40.15; Jon Collins 42.07; Ruth Herbert 43.25; Laura Maddison 44.10; Louise Abbott 49.19 and Chris Baker 54.07.

Swindon Park Run

JO WOOD completed the 5k Swindon Park Run in a time of 24.12 to finish first in her age group.
