MINETY U7s fielded three sides at the Avonvale Rugby Festival and their A team finished runners-up after being narrowly beaten by the hosts in the final.
Avonvale U7s Rugby Festival
Avonvale, Colerne, Marlborough, Walcot, Calne and Minety all sent teams to contest the tournament.
Minety As – Henry Mason (capt), Finn Tucker, Sam Dunnage and Peter Bevan – played some great tagging rugby in the group stages and progressed through to the final which, after an evenly fought contest, they lost 10-9 with the winning try coming in the last seconds.
Both Minety Bs and Cs played very well in their respective groups, with the Bs only prevented from going through to the semis on points difference.
The results reflected the great all-round skill the Minety youngsters have shown this season as they enjoy their first taste of competitive rugby.
