Ray Rhymes Series 10-mile Time Trial – Race 2

IT WAS a case of 'same again' at the second 10-mile time trial of the season with the top three places being taken by the same trio of riders.

Again, it was international triathlete Steve Yates from Daglingworth who came out on top in a time of 22.33.

Andy Morgan took second place in 23.27.and Michael Cashman was third in 25.30.

Slightly slower times for the first two reflected the tough conditions, with a hard run-out to the turn and the odd cold cross wind on the return leg.

No fewer than 56 competitors from six clubs took part in the event.

Mark Foyn turned the tables on Gerry Peppin by taking fourth in 25.42 with Paul Fuchs improving for fifth in 26.11 to Gerry’s sixth place one second later.

Stephen Chapman turned the tables on Allan Norwood, improving by 43 seconds to record 27.25 against Allan’s hard-fought 27.31.

Marguerite Miatt also improved by 17secs to take ninth in 31.20. Tenth place saw Noel MacKenzie in full flight for 33.05.

Terry Barry, aboard his mountain bike once more, timed slightly better this week at 34.45 for 11th place.

The only Corinium CC second claim member riding was 15-year-old Matt Hodgson (Ride 24/7) from Tetbury and he put up a personal best of 25.00 which was excellent given the conditions.
