Oaksey 1
Sherston 2
SHERSTON gained a surprise win at Oaksey after the home side had dominated territorial play in the early exchanges.
The first goal was scored on eight minutes by Oaksey’s Robin Collier – a close-range effort.
Thirteen minutes later a needless penalty gave the always dangerous Will Barrass the chance to equalise for Sherston from the penalty spot.
Oaksey continued to dominate but a lack of discipline and needless high balls played into Sherston’s hands with veterans Dave Sheppard and Andy Wicks showing their experience of higher league football.
Sherston got their winner with 15 minutes to go as Barrass picked up the ball some 20 yards into the Oaksey half and bore down on goal before shooting home from just inside the penalty area.
