Mark attributed his recent fine form to the extra responsibility he has taken on as captain.
In second place, just one shot behind, was Nick Brown, who had the consolation of posting an impressive gross 72.
In third place was past club captain Tony Crowther with an excellent net 67.
Burford B team 4.5
Cirencester B Team 1.5
FOLLOWING their resounding success over the team from Puckrup Hall the week before, the B Team captained by Howard Jones faced stiffer opposition when they travelled to Burford on Saturday.
Despite registering an eagle and two birdies the opening pair of Howard and Nick Brown let a two-shot advantage slip in the dying stages of their game to settle for a hard-earned half. Overall the team lost 4.5 to 1.5 to a very strong Burford team, with the only victors being John Morris and Leighton Rees who won 6&5.
John, much to his and everyone else's amazement, posted a gross 73 (net 61).
