AMONG the elite athletes, celebrities and celebrity look-alikes, 11 Bourton Roadrunners travelled to the capital on April 13 to take part in the 33rd London Marathon, with Darren Long first home for the club.

Virgin Money London Marathon

Seeking his second sub three-hour run in consecutive years, he strayed from his pace in the middle of the race and had to pull out everything in the last few miles and made his target with three seconds to spare in 2:59.57.

Next quickest was Steve Edwards who ran his 631st marathon in 3:09.44.

Running for the Beating Bowel Cancer charity on the birthday of his father who died of the disease, Mike Hobbs was disappointed with his 3:35.52 but pleased to have raised more than £2,000 for the charity.

Enigma Easter Marathon,

STEVE EDWARDS was back in action at the Enigma Easter Marathon, just five days after London, finishing third in 3:14:09.

Steve's wife Teresa Edwards ran the first Enigma Half Marathon and was third lady in 2:05.

Caldervale 10-mile race

LYNN HUDSON ran the very hilly Caldervale 10-mile race in Lancashire, and was delighted to win her age group in 01:34:25, finishing 11 seconds ahead of her nearest age-group rival).
