ATHLETICS: Russell Young tops RSE runners at London Marathon

EIGHT RSE runners travelled to London last weekend to take on the Virgin Money London Marathon.

Virgin Money London Marathon

Well done to Russell Young who despite the heat of the day finished the race in 2:54.47 and to marathon first timer Dave Witnall who crossed the line in 3:28.09.

Also running the distance for the first time was Sharon Baldwin (3:55.35) and Elaine Chapman in (4:20.17).

Mother and daughter Deb and Eve Barry also competed with Deb finishing in 3:58.02 to secure a 'good for your age' place after missing out by 20 seconds the last time.

Eve, running the distance for the first time, clocked 4:50.20.

Paul and Caroline Coates having competed in Rome three weeks earlier did well to finish in 4:31.28 and 5:33.52 respectively.

Marathon Des Sables

LAURA MADDISON did incredibly well to complete the punishing Marathon Des Sables in 54hrs 12min 08sec.
