STRATTON YOUTH ROUND-UP
Purton U18s 1
Stratton Youth U18s 6
The scorers for Stratton were Scott Reynolds (2), Archie Day, Tom Cox, Conor Smith and Alex Harding. Purton's consolation goal was scored by Matt Morgan.
MoM: Tom Cox.
Stratton Youth U16s 2
Ramsbury Juniors U16s 1
BOTH sides were sluggish to start but Ramsbury were the more threatening and they duly took the lead on 20 minutes after some slack Stratton defending.
Stratton did huff and puff but failed to break the visitors' resilience.
The second half was a different affair, with Stratton on the front foot from the start and the lively Sam Grafton finished off a great move within a minute of the restart.
Although Stratton didn't get into their passing game, they caused the visitors a lot of problems. With the light fading fast, and ten minutes remaining, up popped Robbie Hunter to steal the ball off the keeper and finish from close range.
The last five minutes were frantic, but Stratton held on for the win.
MoM: Chris Hicks.
Stratton Youth U14s (blue) 2
King's Stanley U14s 1
THIS hard-fought win saw the blue team continue their recent improvement.
They came from a goal down after being caught on the break and were inspired by a MoM display from Joe Speak.
He made a driving run and hit an unstoppable shot into the top corner of the net before half-time and then secured the win five minutes from time, when a smart move on the edge of the box saw him finish in style.
Credit is due to the defence of Louie Jackson, Mike McCarten, Tom Price, Will Collings and Charlie Hill who ensured the visitors had no clear-cut chances to score.
Croft U13s 1
Stratton U13s 12 (twelve)
THE rapidly improving Stratton U13s gained their biggest win ever at Croft.
STRATTON Youth U8s enjoyed a high scoring match with Fairford.
Ollie Potter (3), Jayden Stratford (2) and Archie Armstrong (2) were the scorers for the home side.
