Purton Youth Round-up
PURTON U10s continue to top their league and were awarded three points this weekend against Lydiard Youth White who failed to raise a team.
The U15s will rue the chances they missed in their top-of-the-table clash with Swindon Supermarine. Grabbe, with a penalty, scored for Purton after 51 minutes but the visitors levelled eight minutes later.
The U16s thanks to strikes by Downs and Thorne won 2-1 in their away game against Brinkworth Cats.
The U18s White, fielding only 10 players, had just a goal by Morgan to celebrate in their 6-1 home defeat by Stratton Youth.
The U18s Red fared better with a 3-1 away victory over Blunsdon Black FC, with goals by Thorburn, Finch and Cook.
With games in hand they may still go close to winning the league.
