Seniors' captain Clive Bennett and Graham Morgan failed to shine in the opening match, losing one down.
Even though the slimline pair of John Morris and John Anderson won handsomely by 6&4, the next two matches were lost to put Cirencester on the back foot.
Club captain Mark Woodhead and Ian Hunter, playing his first match for the team, narrowed the score to 3&2 but Cirencester could win only one of the three remaining matches, David Walters and Patrick Waldron triumphing by 3&2 to complete an ordinary start to the season.
