MALMESBURY School hosted their first equestrian show jumping competition at Summerhouse Equestrian Centre, Gloucester, last week.
The show, which included qualifying rounds for the county championships for Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and Avon, was a great success and was well attended by about 220 competitors.
Malmesbury School riders had a good day at the event, the novice team of Alex Harvey, Lottie Moon, Hannah Boughton and Eliza Gibb finishing fourth.
Eliza, riding Pudsey, was the star of the day being the highest-placed Wiltshire rider in the 70cm class. She therefore qualified to represent both Malmesbury School and Wiltshire in the National County Championships on April 26.
The equestrian squad are grateful to their sponsors and for the support from Malmesbury School who enabled this first event to take place.
The sponsors included: Absorbent Minds Montessori, Agri-Bio Services Ltd, Andrew James Coaches, AR Woodward Jewellers, Butchers Electrical Services and Technology, Dan Bailey, EquiFresh, Haine and Smith Opticians, PNC Curtis, Rein and Shine, Strutt and Parker, The Elephant Bathroom Company, Period Metal Window Company and Willis Bros.
