CIRENCESTER TOWN booked their place in the Calor League Division One South & West play-offs at the very least with a 2-0 home win over local rivals Cinderford Town.
A goal in each half from Joe Shepherd and Aidan Bennett was enough to secure the points, while Cinderford’s Sam Hunt received a red card in the 85th minute.
Ciren can now finish no worse than fourth in the table but they are continuing to hunt down Merthyr Town at the top. With the Welsh leaders stuttering to a draw at home against Yate, Ciren joined them on 83 points.
Merthyr have four games remaining while their principal rivals must play Mangotsfield (A), Shortwood (H) and Yate (A).
