Glos Northern Senior Div Two
Leonard Stanley 1
Bibury 2
A LATE goal by Stanley made the finish more tense than it might have been after Bibury took charge with two second-half goals.
Stanley had the better of the early exchanges and a dangerous ball into the box had to be dealt with well by Shaun Sutton.
Bibury slowly got into the game and Scott Huband had their first real chance only for the home keeper to make a good save.
Minutes later Dom O'Neill put a great chance over the bar and as the half came to a close both Huband and O'Neill were off target with other efforts.
Charlie Ingham saw a shot well saved in the early stages of the second half before Bibury took the lead when a cross-cum shot from O'Neill deceived the Stanley keeper and flew into the far corner.
Minutes later Huband headed just over the bar but he made no mistake with his next opportunity, tucking the ball in at the far post following an inch-perfect pass from Chris Singh.
Stanley pulled a goal back with two minutes to go thanks to a harsh penalty for handball but it was Bibury who held on to take the three points.
