Spring Meeting

The winner of Division One was Tony Jafrate with 40 points. A birdie on the first and another on the eighth counted towards an excellent first half and this was enough to keep Jim Donovan in second place on 39 points.

John Thurston, on 39 points, secured third place following his fourth place in the March competition.

A quartet of players on 38 points were separated by countback, with Rodney Williams and Andrew Leith taking fourth and fifth place.

In Division Two, two players, Geoff Knight and Geoff Southwell, scored 41 points. It was settled by countback in favour of Knight whose birdie on the 16th proved decisive.

Mark Harrison's third place on 39 points was notable for mistakes on the first and 15th compensated for by birdies on the sixth and the par five 17th hole.

David Bamford took fourth place with 37 points and Bob Allen was fifth on countback from three other players on 36 points.
