CIRENCESTER head pro Ed Goodwin returned to winning form at the latest Gloucestershire & Somerset PGA Medal held at Tall Pines GC adjacent to Bristol international Airport.

Goodwin had to share the title with last week's winner Daryl Kelley (Filton GC) after a stunning round of 66 (four under par).

The pair held a comfortable three-stroke advantage over Giuseppe Licata in third.

Goodwin started slowly and was over par after a third of his round was complete. Back-to-back gains at the seventh and eighth got things moving for him before another dropped shot at the ninth saw him turn at level par.

His back nine was a far different story, though, as another brace of birdies came at the 11th and 12th before his only dropped shot of the back nine came at the very next hole.

He made hay on the run from the 15th as he notched a trio of birdies and a closing par for his 66.

Licata's third place denied Goodwin the chance to make up much ground on the leader in the Total Triumph Order of Merit.

The next G&S action takes place at Goodwin's home course, Cirencester GC, on April 9.
