ROYAL Wootton Bassett U8s won the prestigious London Irish Mini Rugby Festival, a tournament featuring top sides from throughout the South of England.

Bassett One carved their names in the club's history with a thrilling festival performance, winning group matches against Wimborne (8 tries to 6); Redingensians (9-8); Newbury (6-3) and Petersfield (5-4) before facing High Wycombe in the final.
In a game played at a fast pace, Bassett raced into a three-try lead and while High Wycombe played their part in an epic final it was Bassett who were to be victorious by 7 tries to 5.
Bassett 's second string side, the A squad, showed plenty of endeavour and no little skill in winning one game and losing the remaining three by close margins.
Wiltshire Festival U12
ROYAL Wootton Bassett U12s clinched a place in next season's prestigious Wiltshire Division One with victories over Bradford-on-Avon (10-0) and Devizes (10-5) before running both Chippenham and Salisbury close.
Elsewhere, in a series of cup fixtures, Bassett U13s won 31-7 at Warminster and the U14s went down at Bradford-on-Avon 12-7.
Bassett U15s gave their all in a titanic 19-21 defeat to a well-drilled Trowbridge side in a game that saw the lead change hands four times
Bassett U16s, the current Wiltshire U16 champions, travelled to Swanage where they were beaten 20-7 by the champions of Dorset, Wimborne, in the Dorset & Wilts Cup Final.
