FAIRFORD put on a performance devoid of any rhythm to slump to a second consecutive defeat.
Dorset & Wilts Div One North
Fairford 3
Trowbridge II 15
Fairford defended well in the opening exchanges with the visitors rarely looking like scoring.
Twenty minutes in, however, the pressure told as Trowbridge had their first try.
Ill discipline allowed the visitors field position to drive over a maul from five metres out.
The half continued in much the same vein. Playing into the wind, Fairford failed to get a foothold in the game and a high error count left them without any real spells of possession. Trowbridge earned a second try before the interval, scoring out wide for a 10-0 lead.
After a thorough dressing down from coach Lenthall, Fairford gained some impetus early in the second half.
They started to carry with more intensity and looked after the ball with greater care. They could not create any meaningful opportunities however, apart from breaks from fly half Harry Johnson and wing Colin Bullock.
Fairford tried to claw their way back into the game, though, but an Andy Waite penalty was all they could muster as over ambition gifted Trowbridge possession on several occasions.
The visitors wrapped up the game midway through the second half.
With defenders too narrow, Fairford's drift defence failed them and they were beaten for pace, when the Trowbridge winger scored out wide.
