Glos Northern Senior Div Two.

Newent Town 4.

Bibury 3.

BIBURY were cruelly denied a point at Newent Town by a goal with the last kick of the game. Bibury, just one place below their hosts at the start, created the first chance but Josh Russell dragged his shot just wide.

Newent started to see more of the ball and took the lead on 20 minutes with a tidy finish. Two minutes later they were 2-0 up thanks to another good finish.

Bibury were struggling to keep the ball for any length of time and their keeper Steve Luce also had to make a couple of good saves.

But Bibury rallied and were level at the break. Firstly, Dominic O'Neill buried a back-post header off an inch-perfect cross from Ashley Rockley following good initial work from Russell.

Then, right on the interval, Russell was again involved in the build up before Rockley found the net from just outside the box.

Newent wasted a great chance to retake the lead soon after the restart and Luce also had to make a couple of sharp stops.

Ten minutes into the half, though, Newent went in front, this time with a far-post header.

Bibury spurned their first chance to equalise when a Rockley penalty was saved.

Five minutes later, however, they did find the leveller when Russell played in striker Scott Huband who finished well.

Bibury also had a great opportunity to go in front for the first time only for Josh Russell to fire over, and then with the game coming to an end, Newent struck to snatch the winner.
