THIRD-PLACED Didmarton fell to a disappointing away defeat at the hands of Cashes Green on Saturday.

Stroud & District Div One

Cashes Green 1

Didmarton 0

In very difficult conditions and on a poor surface, both sides struggled to create any momentum in the first half.

Didmarton found it difficult to keep possession and Cashes were able to apply some pressure, playing downhill.

A free kick given 20 yards out proved to be the key moment of the game when it was powerfully struck into the top left corner, giving Didmarton keeper Gary Waldron no chance.

Didmarton's second half display was much more positive and they tested the Cashes Green back four who defended solidly.

A game of few chances resulted in a 1-0 home win for Cashes to send them four points clear of Didmarton in the table, with three games to play.
