TETBURY’S Danny Kent begins his assault on the 2014 MotoGP™ World Championship under 3,000 floodlights at the Commercial Bank Grand Prix of Qatar on Sunday evening – the first of 18 rounds in the series.
Kent endured a difficult first season in the Moto2 class during 2013 but drops back to Moto3, the division in which he won two Grand Prix in 2012.
The 20-year-old could be among the frontrunners for the title as he has looked impressive in testing for the Red Bull Husqvarna team.
Kent said: “My test times are inside the top 10 and the main thing is that we have found a good base set-up.
“We are feeling confident, as some other riders have just set faster one-off laps while we have found a good pace. We’re ready for Qatar.”
The only domestic round in the championship is the British Grand Prix at Silverstone is on August 31.
