MINETY U10s made it a brace of victories in their local derby matches against Tetbury.

In the first game Minety took an early lead through Daniel Jones. Determination and solid tackling, notably by Freya Clarke, Sam Sharples and Reuben Gowda, set up further challenges on the Tetbury line to see the match won 3-1.

The second match started less favourably and Minety found themselves a try down in the first half.

Good link-up play by Charlie Brooke, Daniel Jones and George Howe set up the equaliser. Then hard, straight running by Alex Tagg and Eddie Young saw Tetbury on the back foot and two more tries for Minety took the final score to 4-1.

Player of the day: Oakley Tucker.

In the U9 games, the spoils were shared with two wins and two losses. The harder ground seemed to affect Minety’s commitment in the tackle but they displayed some great passing and evasive skills.

Players of the day: Josh Wilson and Finn Martin for great tenacity and teamwork.
