MASTER MEDIC is fancied to resume winning ways for New York owner Jim Chromiak and Okeford Fitzpaine trainer Sally Alner in the New Forest Mixed Open at Larkhill on Saturday.

The 13-year-old was denied a ninth consecutive success when third at Badbury Rings, but should find Larkhill’s right-hand track much more to his liking.

The 26 entries include Following Dreams, who provided Will Biddick’s 200th career success at Barbury Castle.

Lord Ashton of Hyde’s Cup winner Rumbavu – already a Larkhill course winner this season – and Sally Duckett’s three-time hunter chase winner Radetsky March may also challenge Master Medic.

Among the 24 entries for the PPORA Novice Riders is dual Cheltenham Festival hero Idole First, who would be an appropriate winner if following up his recent Didmarton success.

Illicit Illusion can complete his seasonal hat-trick in the opening Conditions race.

Two well-supported pony races begin proceedings at 11.30am, followed by the first of six point-to-point races at 12.30pm. The course is five miles NW of Amesbury on Salisbury Plain, reached off the A303, A345 or A360 (SP4 8QT). Admission: £10 per person, U16s free.
