Glos Northern Senior Div Two

Wotton Rovers 1

Bibury 2

BIBURY ground out a win against Wotton Rovers who have been enjoying an improved run of late.

Wotton created the first real chance but the header went wide.

Bibury were then unsettled by having to make an early change as midfielder Danny Brunton was replaced by Todd Boucher.

Bibury almost went in front when Ashley Rockley's free kick came back off the crossbar, but at the other end, Boucher cleared off the line and Wotton put two good chances wide.

Bibury did take the lead midway through the half when Dom O'Neill found James Keylock, whose shot from range dipped late to deceive the surprised home goalkeeper.

Bibury then began to dominate the match as Scott Huband (header) and Keylock (shot) both had their efforts saved.

Bibury had a great chance to go further in front but O'Neill fired over from close range following a corner.

Wotton were awarded a penalty in the last minute of the half when Charlie Ingham fouled a home striker in the box; the twice taken penalty levelled the scores.

The start of the second half proved scrappy – Huband firing a shot wide while at the other end Bibury keeper Steve Luce made a comfortable save.

O'Neill and Rockey both then picked up bookings and Bibury were forced to make another change when captain Dan Shannon limped off with 15 minutes remaining.

Bibury retook the lead, however, when Huband was on hand to force a long throw into the box over the line.

Bibury, now in control, continued to go forward but could not add to the scores. Nonetheless, it was a good away win.

Bibury MoM: James Keylock.
