Tetbury Town 1

Didmarton 2

DIDMARTON completed the derby double over Tetbury when edging an interesting encounter at Preston Park.

The two teams are situated at opposite ends of the table and third-placed Didmarton settled into the game quickly although clear chances proved hard to come by.

Didmarton wide men Redpath and Smith kept finding space down the flanks which began to cause Tetbury some problems.

But it was a Stuart Milsom cross that found forward Keveren, who saw his header rebound off the bar, only for Smith to follow up from close range.

Tetbury began the second half positively with some early pressure resulting in a corner, which was headed into the roof of the net, despite desperate attempts to clear off the line. The game turned scrappy despite some creativity from Didmarton’s Rich Harvey, who continually set Redpath clear with excellent long-range diagonal passes.

The deciding goal arrived courtesy of some great work inside the area from Redpath who forced a Tetbury defender into an ill-timed challenge.

Harvey duly converted the spot kick low to the left, giving Didmarton the lead with 15 minutes remaining.

The visitors then saw the game out thanks to some solid defending from skipper Brushneen, Blaken and Underwood to take a crucial three points with just four league games left.
