PURTON suffered their third straight league defeat since the weather-enforced break when they lost to a solitary goal from Clanfield at the Red House last Saturday, writes Alan Eastwood.

Manager Chris Pethick again suffered from players not being available, main striker Blaine Fitzgerald being missing for the third game in a row, while James Richards, Joe Dorey, Steven May, Paul Carson and Callum Hall were also absentees.
The game itself was a dull affair. Jamie Butt scored the only goal for Clanfield after 27 minutes but prior to that Purton had hit the woodwork and Jamie
McGahey missed a 'sitter'.
Purton keeper Devon Brown made three really good saves but the hosts did have chances to score with second-half efforts from Dave Gee and Marcus Hall being thwarted to end another disappointing afternoon for the Purton faithful.
