THREE stable staff from Wiltshire have won awards at the 10th Godolphin Stud and Stable Staff Awards.
Tony Gorman and Maxine Ledger, both from Richard Hannon’s stables in East Everleigh, and Marbeth Blair, at Brian Meehan’s Manton yard, collected prizes in recognition of their hard work caring for horses.
Tony Gorman, head lad, won the Leadership Award, Maxine Ledger won the Dedication to Racing Award and Marbeth Blair, office manager, was awarded the Administration Staff Award.
They were presented with their awards by Clare Balding and AP McCoy at a glittering event hosted by the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) at the Jumeirah Carlton Tower Hotel in London’s Knightsbridge.
Tony and Maxine were each presented with a cheque for £10,000, of which £5,000 will be shared among the staff at Hannon’s stables. Marbeth also received £10,000, with £5,000 of this going to colleagues at the Meehan yard.
