IN NUMBINGLY exposed conditions at Holly Bush, Minch Rams let this game slip to a determined Westbury side.

Glos Reserve League North 3

Minchinhampton Rams 10

Westbury-on-Severn II 12

Westbury had the wind with them in the first half and Minch defended manfully into the driving rain, but eventually the line was breached and they temporarily lost Little to a knock.

However, with some spectacular runs from the Jenns brothers, slicing deep into visitors' 22, and Evans and Atkins driving with purpose, along with the returning Richmond tackling strongly, Minch soon scored a well-deserved try, splendidly taken by the tenacious Beaumont.

Unfortunately, the wind steered the conversion wide, having helped Westbury’s conversion sail over, and ultimately this proved the slim difference between the sides. Westbury scored through their powerful fly half, Minch pressured and Atkins pounced on loose ball from a line-out to complete the scoring.

In a forwards-dominated game, Laird, and Anderson (line-out) also stood out for Minch in a well-contested game.
